Toyota has announced plans to introduce the GR GT, a high-end performance vehicle expected to reach the market around 2027. The company aims to position the model within the upper echelon of global supercars.
The prototype made its public debut earlier this month, reflecting Toyota’s commitment to innovation under the Gazoo Racing performance brand. Distinguished by its highly aerodynamic form, the GR GT integrates racing-car principles into a street-legal design.
Central to the vehicle’s engineering is a hybrid powertrain that pairs a newly developed 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with an electric motor. Toyota projects an output exceeding 650 hp and a top speed greater than 320 kph.
The model features substantial dimensions and a long wheelbase for enhanced stability. While pricing details remain undisclosed, Toyota intends the GR GT to stand as its new flagship.
Accompanying the reveal were prototypes of the GT3 variant designed for FIA GT3 compliance and the fully electric Lexus LFA Concept. These introductions highlight Toyota’s multi-platform strategy for future performance vehicles.
